According to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), in September 2025, Vietnam’s seafood export turnover reached nearly USD 991 million, up 7.5% compared to the same period last year. This positive growth reflects the strong recovery of the seafood industry and its effective utilization of opportunities brought by new-generation free trade agreements (FTAs).
FTAs – A Powerful Lever for Vietnam’s Seafood Growth
Trade agreements such as EVFTA, CPTPP, UKVFTA, and RCEP have opened wide doors for Vietnam’s seafood sector, allowing exporters to access markets in Europe, the Americas, and Asia with preferential tariffs and fewer technical barriers.
Thanks to these trade advantages, Vietnam has not only strengthened its position in traditional markets like the United States, Japan, and South Korea, but also expanded into Africa, South America, and the Middle East — regions with increasing demand for high-quality, value-added seafood products.
In addition, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has played an important role in promoting trade facilitation, easing regulatory challenges, and supporting compliance with international standards — creating favorable conditions for exporters to thrive.
Vietnamese Seafood: Quality, Value, and International Standards
Vietnam’s key seafood exports such as shrimp, pangasius, tuna, squid, and octopus are shifting toward deep-processed, high-value products that meet the world’s growing demand for quality, traceability, and sustainability.
This transformation not only enhances the global reputation of Vietnamese seafood but also demonstrates the increasing professionalism and capacity of domestic producers in production, quality control, and supply chain management.
However, alongside these opportunities, the industry still faces significant challenges — including rising logistics costs, strict cold chain requirements, and fluctuating global market conditions.
At this point, specialized logistics solutions become a crucial factor for maintaining competitiveness and ensuring export efficiency.
