VIETNAM’S AGRO-FORESTRY-FISHERY EXPORTS START 2026 WITH STRONG MOMENTUM

In January 2026, Vietnam’s agro-forestry-fishery export sector recorded impressive growth, signaling a strong recovery in global demand and the rising competitiveness of Vietnamese products in international markets.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, total export turnover in January reached nearly USD 6.51 billion, up 29.5% year-on-year — an encouraging start for the country’s trade activities in 2026.

Outstanding export performance
Key sectors all showed solid growth:

Agricultural products: around USD 3.6 billion, up 41.8%.
Seafood: USD 940 million, up 21.5%.
Forestry products: USD 1.72 billion, up 13%.

The recovery of global consumption, combined with Vietnam’s improvements in quality control, traceability, and international standards, continues to strengthen export competitiveness.

Expanding global markets
Asia remains Vietnam’s largest export destination. Meanwhile, major markets such as the United States, the EU, China, and Japan continue to post positive growth, reinforcing Vietnam’s position in the global supply chain for agro-forestry-fishery products.
