Vietnam’s 3 Major Ports Ranked Among the World’s Top 100 Busiest Container Ports – Strengthening Vietnam’s Global Maritime Position

08/11/2025 00:21

Vietnam Strengthens Its Position on the Global Maritime Map
According to the latest ranking by Lloyd’s List (UK), three major Vietnamese ports – Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, and Cai Mep – have entered the list of the world’s Top 100 busiest container ports in 2025.

These ports play a crucial role in Vietnam’s global trade network, marking the nation’s growing strength in global supply chains.

  • Ho Chi Minh Port ranks 22nd with 9.1 million TEUs, serving as a major hub for Cat Lai, Phu Huu, Hiep Phuoc, and Nha Be terminals, and a key logistics center for Southern Vietnam.
  • Hai Phong Port ranks 29th with 7.1 million TEUs, acting as the main gateway for Northern trade activities.
  • Cai Mep Port ranks 30th with 7 million TEUs, a deep-water port connecting directly to the US and European shipping routes.

This milestone demonstrates Vietnam’s maritime infrastructure advancement and its growing contribution to international logistics networks.

A Growth Opportunity for Vietnam’s Logistics Sector
As Vietnam’s seaport network continues to evolve, the nation is positioned to become a leading transshipment and logistics hub in Southeast Asia.

With modernized port operations, multimodal transport systems, and the rise of sustainable “green logistics,” Vietnam is paving the way for faster, safer, and more efficient global trade connections.

For Fox Logistics, this recognition is both an inspiration and a commitment — to deliver seamless, cost-effective, and professional logistics solutions by sea, air, and land, supporting Vietnamese exports to reach the world.
