Mr. Robert Maersk Uggla – Chairman of A.P.Moller Holding expressed his desire to explore investment opportunities to build large, modern deep-water container seaports as well as strategic logistics projects in Vietnam.

At the meeting, the Prime Minister highly appreciated the capital potential, technology and advanced management level as well as investment activities and vision of building a green and smart port of APM and Maersk.
The Prime Minister also highly appreciated the vision of Maersk and APM Terminals to build a green and smart port, and said that Vietnam is ready to create favorable conditions for foreign investors to promote logistics projects.
The Prime Minister said that Vietnam has more than 3,200 km of coastline, which is in the group of 20 economies with the largest international trade scale. Vietnam is promoting the development of transport infrastructure, including shipping infrastructure and a fleet of ships to reduce high logistics costs, increase the competitiveness of goods and the economy.
The Prime Minister welcomed and encouraged the group's investment expansion plan in Vietnam in developing a green and smart seaport system, logistics services, green sea transportation, etc.
The Prime Minister suggested that the group study and participate in a number of specific projects that Vietnam is calling for investment such as Lien Chieu port (Da Nang), Can Gio international port (Ho Chi Minh City). Ho Chi Minh City), a number of seaports in the North, Central and Southwest.
The Prime Minister also suggested the group to invest in other fields such as digital transformation, green transformation, circular economy; at the same time, sharing experiences in port management and operation, commenting on policies, supporting Vietnam to access international financial resources to develop transport infrastructure such as seaports, airports, high-speed railways, urban railways, etc.
Mr. Robert Maersk Uggla highly appreciated the achievements of the Government of Vietnam in improving the business environment, creating favorable conditions for foreign investors as well as efforts in digital transformation and green transformation towards sustainable development goals as well as the goals committed at Vietnam's COP26 Conference.
He said that the group sees many potentials and great opportunities in Vietnam and wishes to contribute more to the development of Vietnam.
