As global trade continues to shift rapidly, Vietnam is attracting increasing interest from leading logistics corporations around the world. Recently, A.P. Moller – Maersk, one of the world’s largest names in ocean shipping and supply chain management, expressed its intention to expand cooperation with Vietnam, including investing in large-scale, modern deep-water container ports built on green, low-emission, and sustainable standards.
According to Vincent Clerc – CEO of A.P. Moller – Maersk, Vietnam holds immense potential to become a strategic logistics and trade hub in the Asia–Pacific region. He emphasized Maersk’s desire to contribute more deeply to the development of Vietnam’s logistics infrastructure and supply chain capabilities, particularly in ocean freight, deep-water ports, and international container transshipment.
Vietnam’s port system — especially Cat Lai and Cai Mep – Thi Vai — possesses significant natural advantages and a uniquely strategic location for global trade flows.
If realized, Maersk’s investment in deep-water ports will help Vietnam:
Large corporations worldwide are shifting toward low-emission maritime transport. Investment from Maersk would accelerate Vietnam’s transition into a greener, more sustainable logistics hub.
If these projects move forward, businesses engaged in export–import will benefit directly:
As a reputable logistics provider specializing in ocean freight, cold-chain management, and agricultural & seafood exports, Fox Logistics is ready to scale up its services in alignment with Vietnam’s upcoming infrastructure upgrades:
